Mayor confirms start of works on Rua Direita for the beginning of November.
The mayor of Brava, Amândio Brito, guaranteed today that the redevelopment works on Rua Direita, in Nova Sintra, will begin in the first week of November.
Amândio Brito, speaking to Inforpress, explained that the funds for this purpose were made available in mid-July, but that they preferred not to proceed with the works because of the arrival of the rainy season.
"At the time, I was instructed that the work should not be carried out during the rainy season, this in coordination with the Ministry of Infrastructure, and therefore we understood that the work should only be resumed after this season, and with the same company that won the tender," he explained.
According to the mayor, the work should have been completed in 2023, however he stated that the municipality has already held a meeting with the contractor, who has shown willingness to start the work.
"We already have the entire work plan organized and next week we will definitely start the works, and we believe that before Christmas the street will be completely renovated," he concluded.
